I’m stupid excited to introduce a #TapeOfTheWeek for A.Dd+ as they are from my stomping grounds of Dallas/Ft.Worth, Texas! I’ve been on them for a while as my cousins link up with them sometimes. E-Yo be hatin not showin my city love but it’s cool though because he did this week *shrugs*. E-Yo once again killed the airwaves for two hours of pure, unadulterated, underground awesomeness.

We had a full house with Dj E-Yo and I. Dj Mars, whose new show airs before ours, dropped by, Dj Beeeaaamerrrr (gotta say it like Schoolboy Q would) who has a show on Saturday and Dj Ecclesiastes 5foot7, who is currently working on a DOPE comic book called #Ralfie&Rockwell also came by. They were all too scared to “get on the mic doe” Anyway, I’m not going to talk your ear off just listen to the show!

The Concrete Schoolyard Podcast October 3, 2013

For our #TapeOfTheWeek the homie Danny Brown dropped a new album by the name of “Old” on the Tuesday before our show last week! The album is riddled with DOPE beats and songs and a few features from current hip hop royalty. Black Hippy members Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul both contributed to Dope Fiend Rental & Way Up Here respectively. 25 Bucks featuring Purity Ring is sick, Kush Coma is definitely a banger with A$ap Rocky & Zelooperz. Dubstep, Float On & Wonderbread are among the other standouts on an album that truly defines Danny Brown. He seems to have fused Danny from “Hybrid” with the dirty ODB-esque foul mouthed Danny from “XXX”

Ya’ll know I have my hand in a bit of everything right? Here’s the Concrete Schoolyard from August 1st! Our #TapeOfTheWeek was the

and we followed suit bringing you the “latest and greatest in hip hop you haven’t heard.” You’ll just have to listen for all the other music we played!

In case you didn’t know the Concrete Schoolyard is a storied program on Fayetteville’s KXUA 88.3 student ran radio. It’s past is deeply rooted and has always brought a much needed hip hop presence to a city that has struggled to have hip hop as a mainstay. It is currently Hosted by Japan born, North Carolina raised Dj E- Yo, who has been a part of the show for more than a few years, and El Dorado born Dallas raised Dj El Barrrney.

Each Dj brings different talents to the front.

E-Yo live mixes his sets for every show. That means he is on the turn tables as well as the mic. 

El Barrrney AKA Sandy Beats’ own Bernard Oliver focuses on social media and media relations. 

Both Djs focus on the online presence of the Concrete Schoolyard in the form of 1 1/2 hour podcasts. The show airs live on 88.3 in Northwest Arkansas Thursdays from 8pm-10pm and has been known to keep it up until midnight on special occasions. The show is also broadcasted live online at http://kxua.uark.edu/
